Congratulations

I'm playing at Fusion again, I had so much fun last week...I'm back! I love everything about Valentine's Day... the colors, sugar, the love,  so I couldn't pass this one up. Here is a little card I made using both the sketch and the picture, thanks for the inspiration ladies.

CAS-ual Friday Challenge • Snowman Hug

I made this little card with a snowman hug because here in Colorado it's a winter wonderland with temperatures in the teens and lots, and lots of snow! I got my inspiration from my good friend Michele Gross who has a fabulous Challenge blog Cas-ual Friday's along with and even more fabulous stamp line. Michele's stamps are awesome, and witty... I need to get some. This weeks challenge was to make a CAS card with an extended edge. Thanks for the inspiration CAS-ual Friday's!

 Happy February everyone and thank you for those who played with the January Poppy Sketch! This month is filled with lots of love, love, love and what better way to start it off with a fun sketch complete with a yummy prize of bright colored twine! I made a Valentines goody bag to fill with treats for my love.

Love You More

I came across this fun color challenge blog yesterday called Color Throwdown. I love this color trio and thought it was perfect for a Valentine. I certainly am having fun creating again.  Although I have an empty nest right now, I feel like I have a house full of toddlers. Having 4 cats, two of which are kittens. (I know, I could easily qualify for the crazy cat lady) I have to wait till nap time to sit in my office and create! If I don't wait, the whole process becomes playtime and before you know it the whole room is in shambles and I have four very excited kitties running room to room top speed with ribbon and embellishments in their mouths!

You Are My Favorite

I'm really into white these days it's so refreshing to work with. At the moment my office looks like a hurricane hit it but, I can look at my clean project and simply walk out of my messy office feeling satisfied and refreshed...that is until the next time I walk back in.  I just had to play at Cure For Monday Blues when I saw the inspiration photo, it is so soft, dreamy, and reminds me that spring is right around the corner.

The Best Smile • A Layout

When I first started scrapbooking 18 years ago, (eak, did I just age myself?) I started with layouts documenting my sweet daughter's life, who will be 19 in February. I love the art form of scrapbooking it's basically journaling kicked up a couple notches. These three pictures are of my beautiful daughters senior high school pictures last year. My daughter is currently a freshman in college and I miss her terribly, but incredibly proud of her.

A lot of you are familiar with the late challenge blog that I use to co own called 2 Sketches 4 You, where we would provide a hand drawn sketch for scrappy inspiration. I have decided to bring my sketches back to blog land through my personal creative blog A Day in the Life of the Paper Poppy!

Staging a Comeback

Due to an illness I have been absent from creating, I have missed it immencily and I am ready to stage my comeback into the scrap world. I feel a bit out of the loop, but I am ready to jump in with both feet and maybe even start designing once again. Here is a card I made using Starving Artististamps. I use to design for this great company and their stamps are top notch. This cute little hippo is from their Doodle Factory II line.

The Ribbon Carousel • Button & Bows

This week our super talented Crewmate Jessica Diedrich is our hostess with the mostess for our weekly challenge.  She is challenging us to embellish away with buttons and bows on our creations.   

Your creation can be anything from cards, quilts, sewn items,paper crafts, paintings! *** Be sure to have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine,lace, thread (basically anything that comes on a spool). ***
