A Yummy RAK

The holiday's are right around the corner and I am in the full swing of getting ready for this festive time. This consists of baking, baking and more baking! I just finished making home made turtles and have decided to give away 3 packages of these yummy treats on my food blog Del•ic•ious! Little Gifts

I made these little ribbon pails for my dear friends Audrey & Kathy. They are so sweet and made me each a Christmas ordainment. A Warm North Carolina Welcome

This past holiday weekend my daughter and I traveled to North Carolina for a golf tournament! On this trip I had the privilege of meeting Kathy Martin & Audrey Pettit! Two both very sweet and talented ladies in our awesome scrapbooking community! Thank you for the visit ladies, and thank you for my adorable handmade Christmas ornaments.

I know I am a little early, but we will be leaving for North Carolina Thursday morning which is Thanksgiving Day! Claudia has a golf tournament at Duke University, so no cooking for me!

•Here is one of my favorite cookie recipes•

Ginger Snaps

Ingredients

• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 3/4 cup shortening
• 1 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/4 cup molasses
• 1/3 cup granulated sugar for decoration

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease 2 baking sheets.
2. In large bowl, cream shortening, brown sugar, egg, and molasses. Slowly mix in flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Mix until well blended.
3. Pinch off 1 inch sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. Roll in sugar and place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Flatten cookies slightly using the bottom of a glass. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool on wire racks.

Embellish Magazine has to one one my favorite sites, it's clean, sophisticated and overflowing with inspiration. Ashley Cannon Newell the sites author really knows a thing or two about style, and I just had to play along with this weeks challenge.

A new challenge is up at BBTB. This week we were to use the penguin cut from Joys of the Season. This might be my favorite cartridge, so many wonderful cuts. I decided to make a Winter Treat Bag to a accommodate this chubby little creature they call a bird. :)
